Jam With RC & The Gritz At Prophet Bar, Listen To Some Smooth Jazz At The Jazz Education Network’s Conference And Chow Down On Some Wings At Gator’s Dallas.

In case you missed it, yesterday we published a list of our most read articles in 2017.

Interestingly enough, two of our top three read articles from 2017 were actually from 2015. Those two were “Which Dallas Stereotype Are You?” and “That’s My Hood.// How Dallas’ Neighborhoods Got Their Names.”

The other articles ranged from everything like the where to watch the Mayweather-McGregor fight for free and even a ranking of the top 20 porn stars to ever come out of Dallas. And hey, we’re not judging; we appreciate the support and we’re always glad to create content that Dallas seems to enjoy.

And in 2018, our goal is to continue bringing dope content that we hope you’ll enjoy the hell out of as you have been doing for the past five years (almost six). We also hope to continue informing Dallas about all the cool shows and events that are rolling through town, like the ones you’ll find below.

Jazz Education Network Conference at Hyatt Regency Dallas
While advanced registration for this celebration of all things jazz may be closed, you can still get single-day tickets as well as individual performance tickets. This three-day conference hosts people from around the world as they come together to enjoy the sweet chaotic sounds of jazz.

2018 Open Mic Kickoff at Deep Ellum Art Company

Wingsday at Gator’s Dallas
Hosted By DJ Phife, DJ Trill & Cuzin Junebug The MC, this is one wing deal that most certainly can’t be beat today. Get all the wings you want for 50 cents a pop and wash it all down with some $5 daiquiris.

Dallas Mavs vs. Golden State Warriors at American Airlines Center
Watch Dirk and Co. teach the super team what real champions are made of. Unfortunately, we won’t get any of the Curry brothers rivalry action tonight, due to Seth being out with a leg injury. But hey, Kevin Durant is gonna be here, so hopefully the Dallas crowd reminds him of 2011, when the Mavs knocked the OKC Thunder out of the playoffs.

On Better Terms, My Apologies Tour Kickoff at J&J’s Pizza On The Square
In case you missed the hottest news out Denton, the ol’ dirty basement at J&J’s Pizza On The Square reopened a couple of weeks ago. And the local music scene is taking advantage of that news already. Tonight, this all-local lineup will take over the small stage for your listening pleasure.

Squeeze Machine at 500X Gallery
This show presented by two artists, Molly Valentine Dierks and Yuni Lee, features works that focus on illustrating the relationship between humanity and nature. The artists drew influence from both Japanese and Korean art styles to put together these works that delve into both the familiar and unfamiliar. Contact 500X Gallery for appointments to view the exhibit.
