Booze It Up With Comedian Ron White At Majestic Theatre.

Finally, with all that festival nonsense out of the way and a few good nights of sleep under our belts, we can once again look forward to an eventful weekend with many options.

Tonight, for instance, country comedian Ron White will perform a set — alcohol in-hand, you can bet — at The Majestic. Over at Prophet Bar one of our favorite local booking companies, Tactics Productions, continues to reshape that venue's image by bringing Young the Giant and Grouplove to town. Meanwhile, just down the street, revered local band Oso Closo performs their first show in two years over at La Grange. And in the O.C., Kristi Kruger will be performing some French jazz as part of La Divina's latest burlesque revue.

If all else fails, you can always just get drunk and go yell and throw things at the movies like you've always wanted to — except you won't get any dirty looks if you do so over at The Inwood tonight.

Ron White at Majestic Theatre
Over the past five years, Ron “Tater Salad” White has been one of the top three grossing comedians on tour, thanks in part to his association with the Blue Collar Comedy tour. He's also managed to sell over 10 million CDs and DVDs along the way, proving there is some truth to his famous “You can't fix stupid” catchphrase after all. Hey, we kid!

Young the Giant and Grouplove at Prophet Bar
Young the Giant have been playing together in one capacity or another since 2004 when they were known as The Jakes, although their debut full-length wasn't released until 2010 under their current name. They spent much of that year touring with Steel Train, whose Jack Antonoff is now a member of Fun., who was in town just a couple nights ago. Fellow up-and-comers Grouplove join the band on this bill. Of course it's sold out.

Nouvelle Burlesque Revue at Kessler Theater
The phrase nouvelle burlesque translates to new burlesque. La Divinia Productions' Nouvelle Burlesque Revue gives new performers a chance to try the burlesque stage and old performers a chance to try out new routines. So, in either case you'll be seeing something fresh. No pun intended. Also performing tonight will be the internationally famous Evie Lovelle.

Oso Closo reunion show at La Grange
It's been two years since Adrian Hulet, Chris McQueen, Danny Garcia, Andy Rogers and Ryan Jacobi played their last show as Oso Closo. The one-time local favorites (and former menu items at local Chipotle restaurants, no joke) have decided to reunite for a one-off show tonight at La Grange. Also on the bill are Rademacher, Foe Destroyer (featuring McQueen and Garcia) and Brenna Manzare & The Proper Husbands (featuring Hulet).

Midnight Madness at The Inwood
Tommy Wiseau's notoriously awful film The Room is precisely the type of film The Inwood's midnight madness screenings was designed for. Like The Rocky Horror Picture Show, which coincidentally is also playing tonight over at the Lakewood Theater, The Room has become one of those films with designated lines to scream at the screen, as well as spots to improvise some new ones. Fans also throw plastic spoons every time the framed picture of a spoon in one of the character's houses shows up on screen. You are tearing me apart, Lisa!
