Dance Like No One Is Watching.

Yet another dance competition joined the fray with the help of executive producer (and renowned booty shaker) Jennifer Lopez last night. That’s right: World of Dance premiered on NBC last night, and we’re not sure how we feel about it yet, but the winners get a $1 million check.

Point is, we’re not gonna stop you if you want to try out. In fact, we encourage it.

No matter what you decide, though, we’ll keep trying to inform you about opportunities where you can get your groove on and do other fun things here around Dallas. Check out what we have for you today. – Obed Manuel

Tigers Jaw at Gas Monkey Bar N’ Grill
The Scranton duo (pictured above) stops in Dallas. Unfortunately, they’re not bringing Michael Scott. But they are bringing poppy tunes. Saintseneca will also play. – OM

Mod Sun at RBC
Ex-Four Letter Lie drummer Derek Smith’s current project (read: his rap output under the Mod Sun name) is a much easier listen than his old stuff, to say the least. — Cory Graves

Ann Wilson (of Heart) at The Bomb Factory
So much has happened with the Wilson sisters. Will Dallas be where Ann announces that Heart is getting back together? Probably not. But this should still be a dope night of stories and classic tunes. – OM

Pussy Galore: Feminst Trivia at The Wild Detectives
A night of Women Galore-themed trivia hosted by local arts and culture writer Lauren Smart. – OM

Dollar Hot Dog Night at Globe Life Park
Scarf down dollar hot dogs as the Rangers take on the Tampa Bay Rays. It’s also Dr. Pepper Autograph Night. No one loses with this promotion. – OM

Open Mic Night at House of Blues
You’ll either kill it or bomb, but don’t worry about it. All the greats bombed at one point, from Carlin to Chappelle. – OM

Salsa Night at Beto & Son at Trinity Groves
Beto & Son is giving you a free lesson in salsa dancing. You can wash down some of the embarrassment with margaritas while you’re there. The key word here is “some.” – OM
