Must Watch: “Moving Dallas” Shows Off Some Of The City’s Many Diverse And Talented Dancers In Front Of A Gorgeous Downtown Skyline.

I don’t think I’m speaking out of turn when I say that one of Dallas’ greatest problems is the massive disconnect between external perceptions of what this city must be like versus how it actually is.

That’s why videos that show an inclusive Dallas, a creative Dallas, a beautiful Dallas — efforts like the amazing “A City Is A Poem” directed by Andrew Holzschuh — are so important. They shatter those expectations, break down stereotypes and build new points of view.

The latest entrant into this category comes from Moving Cities, the 2014-launched, London-founded video series that showcases professional dancers moving to the beats and backdrops of various cities across the globe. Yesterday, the Dallas version — called “Moving Dallas,” and produced by Wind & Foster, in collaboration with Visit Dallas and our homies at Think Branded Media — finally dropped, featuring performers from such esteemed area outfits as Dallas Cowboy Cheerleaders, Bruce Wood Dance Project, Texas Ballet Theater, Titas Presents and Dallas Black Dance Theatre among others.

Oh, and it’s also the very first video in the series to be set in the United States, thankyouverymuch.

Anyway, it’s pretty damn stunning. Check it out:

So great.

We’ve said it before, and we’ll say it again: This is the diverse and gorgeous Dallas that we need to continue sharing with the world.
