Eat The Rich? This Extravagant, Half-Pound Wagyu Beef Burger Lets You Do Just That, What With Its Gold-Dusted Bacon And Gold-Dusted Brioche Bun.

Whether it makes your eyes pop or your balls drop, there’s a little something for everyone in the latest offering from the bacon-obsessed burger joint Slater’s 50/50.

Considering that the “50/50” in this chain’s name represents the ratio of bacon to beef found in its average burger patties, it should be noted that this eatery is no stranger to playing with food, from burgers stacked high with onion rings or whole jalapenos to bacon-studded brownies and massive five-pound, family-sized burgers.

Still, Slater’s has outdone itself with its kitchen’s new end-of-year special — a blindingly bright, 24-karat gold-dusted burger.

This big boy starts off with a half-pound of wagyu beef. From there, they add gold-dusted “billionaire” bacon, truffle cheese, arugula (the fanciest of lettuces, obviously) and bacon jam (because it’s Slater’s). The whole thing is finally book-ended by a 24-karat gold-dusted brioche bun.

Undoubtedly, all that gold dust will have you sneezing like the rich for weeks.

But is it tasty? Yes.

The burger itself is almost too juicy, and the saucy bacon jam makes for a sweet-and-savory overall flavor — albeit one with a bit of a soggy bottom-bun situation.

So, no, this gilded, statuesque bacon burger is not just a gimmick.

But is it worth $24.95? That part is, of course, up to you.

This burger is only available through December 31, so you better decide soon.
