We Went To A Paper Airlplane Competition at The Frontiers of Flight Museum.

A different kind of flying was the name of the game at the Frontiers of Flight Museum by Dallas Love Field Airport yesterday afternoon as representatives from about a half-dozen area schools participated in the regional qualifier for Red Bull’s paper airplane contest, Paper Wings.

There were three separate categories of competition going on this afternoon: longest distance throw, longest airtime and aerobatics. Red Bull provided the paper, which wasn’t to be modified beyond folding, as well as the judges who taped off, timed and critiqued the efforts.

In the end, University of North Texas students Alex Aldiab and Aaron Presley took home the competition’s top local honors for aerobatics and distance, respectively, with University of Texas at Arlington student Beau Bentley Winning the hang-time competition.
