Time To Celebrate National Margarita Day.

There's no question that we Dallasites love us some margaritas, be they from Mariano's, the birthplace of the frozen margarita machine, our personal favs over at La Calle Doce, or the always-adored offerings at the many Gloria's locations. What better place is there, then, to celebrate National Margarita Day than right here in Dallas? If we had our say the annual holiday would also be followed by National Nap Day every year, as sucking down more than one 'rita in one sitting always make us extra sleepy. Someone start a petition for us?

National Margarita Day
As if the town that invented the frozen margarita machine needed another excuse to go out for mid-week cocktails, today is indeed National Margarita Today. That being said, you can expect some pretty sweet specials all over town, such as at the Blue Goose Cantina where they'll feature all-day happy hour pricing on their 'ritas, at Mariano's where they're offering $2 off, at El Ranchito where house margaritas will be $3, or at Social House where their all natural, mixer-free margaritas with Patron are just $4. Would you like salt with that?

Mean: The Charles Manson Musical at Ochre House
When we think gut-busting laughs, the first subjects that usually comes to mind are Charles Manson and his family of followers — y'know, right behind Hitler and Osama Bin Ladin, of course. So one can imagine how hilarious a musical comedy based on the first meeting between Manson, Charles “Tex” Watson, and Squeaky Fromme must be! Imagine no longer, folks. Mean goes down tonight at Ochre House.

Lenny Kravitz at Verizon Theatre
Though we've never thought of Kravitz as a truly stellar axe-man, we still think it's a bit unfair how many comparisons to Hendrix and Prince he's had to endure throughout his career. Why are critics always so quick to anoint up-and-coming young black guitarists as the next Hendrix? It's just not fair. And, hey, though he's never quite lived up to the guitar hero status thrust upon him so eagerly early on in his career, Kravitz has still managed to rack up a respectable number of successful Top 40 singles.

Fresh Faces of Fashion 2012 Raffle Party at Gossip Bar
The crux of this free fashion event revolves around a raffle for a Mercedes-Benz. The proceeds will benefit The Suicide & Crisis Center of North Texas.

Swing Dancing Lessons at Sons of Hermann Hall
According to the Sealion song “This Bandana is a Time Machine,” the band wanted to move away because “Dallas doesn't dance.” But since that song was released back in November, we've noticed a sea change on this front. More and more kids are dancing in Dallas, and not just at hip-hop and electronic shows. So if you're going to keep up, you might as well pick up a few new moves at the weekly swing dance lessons offered at Sons of Hermann Hall. Lessons are from 8 to 9 p.m. and then practice lasts until midnight.

Beer Dinner at The Libertine Bar (7 p.m.)
Five of the new Deep Ellum Brewery Co. beers will be paired with five courses created by Libertine head chef Roe DiLeo. ($50 per person, reservations required.)
This is actually next week, not this week. All the more reason to make your reservations early, I guess.
