Keep Your Head Ringing At The Granada With Sleigh Bells.

Along with yesterday's low-profile feel, the week continues its rather slow start, with the Dallas International Film Festival dominating much of the entertainment landscape.

That's OK, though, because, as we mentioned before, there are a ton of interesting films at this year's fest.

Your other options? Grab a quiet sandwich at The Libertine or go check out a storytelling event at the MAC.

Or, if you are so inclined, Sleigh Bells' set at Granada Theater tonight is sure to rattle some heads.

Sleigh Bells at Granada Theater
Performing as just a two-piece with a guitarist and a vocalist, the Brooklyn-based electro-pop duo Sleigh Bells rely fairly heavily on backing tracks to pull off their sonically balls-out sound. And they group remain wildly popular at the moment, with tonight's Granada show selling out remarkably quickly.

Dallas International Film Festival
As week keep reiterating, there's no way we can mention each of the 180 films playing at this year's fest in this space. It's probably a better idea to check out the full schedule here or, better yet, check out in our own list of suggested films to catch. For instance, our Jeremy Hughes recommends for tonight My Way, the highest budget film in Korean cinema history, which was directed by Kang Je-Kyu, who Hughes calls the “Steven Spielberg of Korea.”

Half-priced food at The Libertine
As grilled cheese sandwiches go, The Libertine's is among the best — or so says our food writer Melissa Mack. And she should know, as she makes a pretty mean grilled cheese herself. We also enjoy their top-notch tuna burger, and on half-priced Tuesdays, we can afford both.

Oral Fixation at McKinney Avenue Contemporary
Nicole Stewart's monthly Oral Fixation series isn't so much pure theater as it is unadulterated storytelling. With this month's “have a field day” theme, real Dallasites will recount their true life tails of three-legged races and, purportedly, a mishap in a Latvian amusement park. You'll just have to attend to find out exactly how that one ties in. The Quarter Bar will have drink specials following the show.

Free gelato at Genghis Grill
Sure, the Mongolian BBQ joint isn't on the map due to their mastery of Italian desserts, but a deal is a deal, no? When you donate a buck to Young Texans Against Cancer all DFW Genghis Grill locations will serve up a two-flavor helping of gelato for free.
