Rage With Us at Dada on Saturday Night!

It's hard to look at a list of events this long and pretend there's nothing going on. But, really, we've been so pumped about our next big shindig that we're starting to experience some tunnel vision.

Can you really blame us? With the mix of artists, designers and musicians we've slated to appear at Dada on Saturday night, it's hard not to be amped up.

But, hey, we're not that conceited. There are a ton of other concerts and dance parties going on as well. Whether you're trying to forget about your upcoming finals, get over a shitty work week or you're just down to party 24/7, there's most certainly something good for you to do the next few days.

Friday
Nervous Curtains, Skeleton Coast and Blackstone Rangers at Double Wide
As we mentioned earlier this week, thanks to the recent birth of Nervous Curtains drummer Robert Anderson's daughter, tonight's performance will be the last opportunity to catch that band live until February of next year. Also on the lineup are Blackstone Rangers and Skeleton Coast, who are responsible for two of our favorite local releases of the year.

Lamb of God at Palladium Ballroom
On Monday, Lamb of God frontman Randy Blythe was formally indicted on manslaughter charges in the Czech Republic in connection with the death of a fan at a 2010 concert. If charged, Blythe faces up to 10 years in prison. Not to sound too morbid, but there's always the chance this could be the last tour for the band if all doesn't go well.

Dead Week Print Show at Rubber Gloves
A reminder to all you procrastination-prone college kids: If you study a little bit all semester, you won't have to kill yourselves cramming it all in at the end. Take a break tonight with bands like Zorch and prints by P.A.N.T.S. and Pan Ector at Rubber Gloves. Face it, if you don't know the info by now, you probably never will.

Festivus Follies Burlesque Show at Lakewood Theater
Although it's still a couple of weeks from the actual day of Festivus, we'll save our airing of grievances for then. For now, we'll enjoy the expressions of anti-commercialism displayed by Viva Dallas Burlesque's dancers.

Ladies Stay Crazy dance party at Texas Theatre
It's ladies night at Texas Theatre! Men are not discouraged from attending this monthly dance party event, though. They are, however, encouraged to dress as ladies.

Saturday
Central Track presents: Hometown Glory at Dada
More than a concert, tonight is a celebration of Dallas and the tremendous abundance of talent we have here. Clothes from The Good Child, Loyal KNG and a collaborative effort between the Mentally Ill and Mid-Point will be on display. So too will live art from Riley Holloway, Tony Bones, Joonbug and Edward Ruiz. Not to be forgotten are performances from Zhora, Neo-Safari, -topic and DJ Sober. As a reader of ours, you're contractually obligated to come.

Vorvon vinyl ep release at Lola's
Fort Worth supergroup Vorvon's sound is one that's extra heavy on the low end. Credit that largely to the fact that the band boasts not one, but a pair of bass players. Helping them celebrate the release of their new vinyl EP, Bass Mountain, are Pinkish Black, Pallbearer and Wild//Tribe.

Dom Kennedy at Trees
Rap music? Sounds like my kind of party!

Flosstradamus at Lizard Lounge
Kid Sister's big bro and his bestie got their start throwing huge dance parties up in Chicago. These days, the boys in Flosstradamus can pretty much get a party going just about anywhere they go.

Sunday
Christmas Lights Bike Ride at Strangeways
Screw the tree. String those lights on your fixie and meet the Switching Gears crew up at Strangeways at 5:30 p.m. Then go admire Christmas lights around town with your two-wheeled compadres. Ugly Christmas sweaters are highly encouraged.

Norton Records Benefit at Magnolia Motor Lounge
Hurricane Sandy did a hell of a lot more damage than just causing the New York Marathon to be cancelled. Norton Records, for instance, had their warehouse flooded. Thanks to benefit shows being put on all over the country, they can dry that vinyl off sooner than later. Fort Worth's fundraiser will feature performances by DJ Jukeboxmafia, Casa Magnetica, Street Arabs, Ape Hangars, War Party, Oddlot, Year of the Bear and Dove Hunter.
