Uh-Huh, Honey.

Don't feel guilty if your post-work ritual this evening includes tossing a few back. Getting your swerve on is probably something you're genetically predisposed to do.

More and more research shows that dozens of members of the animal species seek out toxic bugs, plants and even resort to licking toads in order to get tipsy.

Let's not forget we are all just mammals. With that in mind, here are a few places you might catch us being ourselves this evening.

Uh Huh Her at Cambridge Room
While pronouncing the band's name may leave you feeling slightly foolish, you'd be even more foolish to miss out on this concert. Uh Huh Her's electro-pop sound seduces the ears with more than just melodic bleeps and bloops, but with thoughtful and nostalgic lyrical content as well. It also doesn't hurt that Camila Grey and Leisha Hailey make a gorg pair on stage. — Chrissi Chetwood

Vinyl Tap at Double Wide
Come early for Double Wide's happy hour, which features free barbecue courtesy of Sonny Bryan's. Then stay late and kick it old-school, buying, selling, swapping and listening to records and tapes with fellow music lovers. To top it off, DJ Mr. Rid will entertain vinyl enthusiasts with some mixing of his own. So, if you have that special piece of vinyl you've been searching for, maybe this is your chance to find it. —Jessica Petrocchi

Outward Bound Mixtape Sessions at Crown and Harp
On an unusually quiet Monday night, Crown and Harp looks to be where all the action will be. While Cool Out is going on upstairs, Yells at Eels percussionist Stefan Gonzalez will host his still-new experimental/avant garde weekly down below. This week's performers include progressive Dallas jazz trio Mora Collective, Santa Fe vocal looper Lily Taylor, Deermook, Jeremy Johnson's synth duo JJJJJJ, and Primitive Orgasm, which, this week, will feature improvisational grindcore guitarist Dorian Rainwater. Boring is the one thing it won't be. — Cory Graves

Sugarfoote and Co. at Adair's Saloon
The beer-swilling, good-timing country and folk tunes that Cody Foote and his pals crank out during their Monday night residency have been a longtime favorite of Deep Ellumites and service industry folks alike. After a couple $8 pitchers and a famous Adair's burger, even the strictest nine-to-fivers might think about calling in and taking off Tuesday morning as well. — CG
