Scenes From This Weekend's Red Bull Air Race World Championships at Texas Motor Speedway.

People with little to no care for the sanctity of human life took to Fort Worth's Texas Motor Speedway over the weekend, fearing not the dangers that come with trying to squeeze 250-miles-per-hour-traveling planes through comically oversized traffic cones.

And there are rules, we imagine, to the competition that took place. We suppose it wasn't just an opportunity to see planes zoom by and get a kick out of that. We know, too, that a guy from France took home the first-place honors.

Really, we're not all that clear on any specifics beyond that and, to be fair, neither is photographer Karlo X. Ramos, who was on site to take in all the action for us. But, hey, his pictures from the event are pretty cool. So maybe the straight visual aspects are redeemable qualities enough? Sure, let's say so.

Anyway, check the images out below. And jam this DJ Sober mix while you do — but only if you wanna feel dangerous like Maverick.
