At The House of Blues, You Can Go Meet The Man Behind The Vodka.

Aside from SMU's fashion week, which continues on today with a trunk show and panel discussion, it's also Dallas Comedy Festival week at the Dallas Comedy House. That fest kicks off tonight with a show featuring Paul Varghese and a slew of other comedians from all over the country.

Speaking of comedy: The laughably awful action flick Samurai Cop is the latest in Texas Theatre's Tuesday Night Trash series, while the Magnolia, on the other hand, will be keeping things more classy with a showing of one of the greatest movies of all time.

Then out in Denton, The Polyphonic Spree continue their trend of playing excessively intimate local venues when they perform at Dan's tonight.

Dallas Comedy Festival at Dallas Comedy House

As part of the Dallas Comedy Festival, the Dallas Comedy House in Deep Ellum will be bringing in comedians from all over the country for six days of workshops, panels and performances. Find a more detailed list of all the week's scheduled events here.

An Evening With Tito Beveridge at House of Blues
As part of local radio station KRLD's Signature Series, Tito Beveridge, the founder and master distiller of Tito's Handmade Vodka, will be on hand at House of Blues talking about how he opened the first legal distillery in the state of Texas.

The Polyphonic Spree at Dan's Silverleaf
As they did a few weeks back when they performed their first ever show at Sons of Hermann Hall, The Polyphonic Spree are set to play another intimate local gig tonight. It should make for an interesting show (or at least some badass photo ops), as this will be one of the smaller venues the band has performed since that one time they played that hospital room on Scrubs.

Tuesday Night Trash: Samurai Cop at Texas Theatre

One of our favorite things is watching the trailers to Texas Theatre's Tuesday Night Trash selections, which seem to get more and more ridiculous each week. Tonight's pick is Samurai Cop, in which the LAPD must rely on the martial arts skills of a sword-wielding maverick cop in order to defeat a gang of Japanese mobsters that are taking over the city.

Fashion Week at SMU
From 11 a.m. to 4 p.m., there will be a trunk show at the Owens Fine Arts Center Atrium where sponsors like Rent the Runway will have dresses and accessories available to try on. Then at 6:30 p.m. there will be a panel at O'Donnell Hall in Meadows OFAC entitled “Journalism and the Business of Blogging” and featuring various area fashion media bigwigs.

The Big Movie: Raging Bull at Magnolia Theatre
The best part of the Big Movie series is that it gives us late twentysomethings a chance to go back and enjoy films released either before we were born or before we had the wherewithal to fully appreciate them, and to do so up on the big screen as they were truly intended. This week's pick is Scorsese's Raging Bull, which is widely regarded among film critics as one of the top five movies ever released.
