Play Hooky With Grimes At Good Records.

A couple of sweet in-stores over at Good Records look like the best bets of the night. If you've never been to one before, definitely think about heading over and finding out why we call it the second best stage on Greenville Avenue. Meanwhile, the kicking off of Mockingbird Station's new local concert series and Big Head Todd are also safe gambles as well.

Grimes at Good Records
Good Records has a batch of real nice in-stores coming up, starting this afternoon with the Grimes who'll appear live from the Astro Turf courtesy of local blog Gorilla vs Bear. Those not wanting to make the trek out to Denton to catch her full set at Dan's Silverleaf later in the night should cut out of work a bit early for this one, as the in-store starts at 4 p.m.

Big Head Todd and the Monsters at House of Blues
Maybe it's partly due to all the 20th anniversary editions of so many seminal '90s albums being released over the last couple years (or just because of the cyclical nature of music), but a lot of people are nostalgic for that era of alternative rock at the moment. This might help explain how acts like Big Head Todd are still kicking around and filling out venues the size of the House of Blues.

Taco Happy Hour at El Padrino
Oak Cliff (or TacOak Cliff as we like to call it) is not only home to the most tacos per capita than any other Dallas neighborhood, but they also serve up some of the best in town over there. Heck, there's even a blog dedicated solely to this phenomenon. So while you're navigating the taco trail tonight, you might want to stop by El Padrino where tacos are half-price on the last Thursday of the month.

Wall Flowers Walk at Rio Room
Wallflower Management's runway presentation begins at 7:30 with an after-party to follow that will feature Australian nu-disco DJs Cassian and Plastic Plates.

Spring Concert Series at Mockingbird Station
Today marks the first offering from Mockingbird Station's new Spring Concert Series, which will subsequently take place on the first and third Thursdays of the month through July 5th. Club Wood will be performing on the mezzanine in front of the Angelika as part of the local music series.
