Our Most Popular Stories of the Week.
This week on Central Track, we broke some big news and shared some fun facts. Here are our five most popular stories from this past week.
• Our biggest story of the week? A story from last week that got a little bump this week thanks to our friends at 1310 KTCK-AM The Ticket, who talked about it on the air. Hey, people like learning interesting facts about Dallas.
• We heard a ton of news this week about new venues coming to town, and this one, which finds Texas musician Pat Green and the guys behind Bowl & Barrel bringing a new spot to Uptown, definitely raised some eyebrows. Rightfully so: The space will hold up to 2,400 people.
• Ironic rap fans had reason to rejoice this week, when we broke the news that Riff Raff is coming to town to headline the 2013 South by So What?! festival in March.
• Also coming to town: A new bar from The Ticket's/The King Bucks' Danny Balis and The Barley House's/Slobberbone's Jess Barr. Guess Deep Ellum ain't dead, despite what other outlets in town are saying.
• No Deep Ellum definitely isn't dead: We also learned this week — just this late afternoon, actually — that Fuzzy's Taco Shop is teaming with some powerful local music names to re-open the old La Grange space. There is life after death, turns out.
…and that's that. Have an awesome weekend, everyone! We'll see you out there.
