More Details Are Emerging On That Long-Planned Lower Greenville Food Truck Park.

Two years ago around this time, everyone in the area food world was clamoring over word of a planned food truck park set to come just across the street from the soon-to-open Trader Joe's location along Lower Greenville. Once deemed the Arcadia Food Park, it was announced back in October of last year that this self-contained row of just-this-side-of-permanent food proprietors would open itself to the public at some point in May 2013.

That, of course, didn't happen. But, hey, plans change.

And so, too, do names: According to a new Facebook page dedicated to the still-coming park helmed by Twisted Root founder Jason Boso, the spot will now be known as the Truck Yard. And though much of the rest of the concept remains in place — the spot will host a permanent cheesesteak joint and a rotating cast of trailers and trucks — a few new details on the concept have come to light of late.

For instance? Well, in addition to the inside cheesesteak business that will operate inside of the park's main building (see above picture), we can now confirm that the indoor portion of the park will also feature a bar, restrooms and a counter for local ice cream operator Carnival Barker's.

There's no word yet on what trailers and/or trucks will make up the outside portion of the park, though — just that this outdoor area will now feature some treehouse seating options “for the kids and the kids at heart,” says Carnival Barker's Aaron Barker.

As of now, Barker adds, the in-construction park is set for a hopeful August open — a date confirmed by the park's standalone site. Or, in other words: Just in time for Barker's ice cream wares to be in highest demand, fortunately enough for his business.
