Keep It Trill.

We hate to be the bearers of bad news, but you're doing Christmas all wrong.

You know that “Here We Come A-Caroling” song that some people like to sing this time of year? Well, those aren't even the original lyrics.

When the song was composed in the mid-1850s the original title was “Here We Come A-Wassailing,” which referred to a long-lost Halloween-like tradition in which folks would travel door-to-door wassailing, which is basically like trick-or-treating for booze.

We're doing it all wrong, indeed.

Until we get that tradition up and running again, we'll have to stick with the modern-day wassailing derivative known popularly as the bar crawl.

Unfortunately, that also means we'll pretty much be paying for all our own drinks tonight, too.

Trillwave X-Mas at The Boiler Room
Some heavy hitters will be joining Trillwave residents Shygirl69 and Dubble A for this special Christmas night edition of that group's regular Wednesday night offering. Also on hand tonight: DFW Redbull Thre3style Champion DJ A1; Buffalo Black, whose debut album we named one of the year's top local releases; and CT favorite DJ Niro. — Cory Graves

For Your Pleasure X-Mas Edition at Double Wide
Sure, their drinks are said to “hit harder than dad,” but we guarantee that hanging out with the so-called “orphans of Double Wide” tonight is way less of a beating than spending the evening with your real family. Case in point? This one comes with a DJ set from George Quartz. We're guessing your parents' house doesn't — CG
