Trust Your Doctor.

Yesterday, we came across this interesting little article, which details how you can turn your PC into an all-in-one emulator capable of playing games from virtually every retro gaming system.

It's pretty incredible — and not impossible to pull off, even for the programming illiterate.

Still, it seems like an awful lot of steps. Would it prove worth it in the long run to play every old game ever? Almost certainly. But, still, so much reading. So much. In the end, it's probably just easier to seek your jollies elsewhere this evening.

Lucky, then, that we've got a few suggestions.

The Early November at Trees
The Early November's fourth full-length comes out today. It's pretty cool timing for Dallas-based fans of the New Jersey pop punk outfit, mostly because, from our experience, bands always seem to turn it up a notch at their album release shows. Lydia and Restorations open.

Lip Sync Legends at So & So's
Even if you don't make it a regular habit to catch Jimmy Fallon's late night talk show, you've surely seen video from one of his epic lip sync battle segments the next morning on the interwebs. We can't promise what you'll see at So & So's tonight will be quite as entertaining as Joseph Gordon Levitt mouthing along to Nicki Minaj's “Superbass,” but the first eight people to sign up for this lip sync battle will be eligible to win a $500 cash prize just the same.

Super Soul Brother at Alamo Drafthouse
Low-budget '70s blaxploitation flick Supersoul Brother is a foul-mouthed crime caper starring notorious comedian “Wildman” Steve Gallon in the titular role. Good or not, there's nothing else quite like it being shown anywhere else in town this week.

Time Lord Tuesdays at The Underpass
Why wait for the next comic/sci-fi convention to roll through town to bust out some Dr. Who cosplay? At The Underpass' recurring Time Lord Tuesday events there's not only a whole bunch of Whovians to drink Sonic Screwdrivers with, but cash prizes for the best Doctor, Villain and Companion costumes.

Gumption Launch Party at BrainDead Brewing
Back in March, Woodchuck released Gumption, the newest hard cider in its year-round roster. To further rollout this P.T. Barnum-inspired cider, Woodchuck's bringing in circus performers and offering up Gumption mixology lessons. Step right up.
