As my schedule has gotten busier, simple nights out are starting to sound much, much better. Bar-hopping used to be fun while summer was in full swing, and while I still love planning intricate ways to make it to every event that happens to fall on any given day, sometimes simpler is best. Those times, you just want a one-stop kind of night that has it all instead. And so, I bring you this week’s perfect one-stop date night.

Commerce Street Night Market (444 W. Commerce Street, Dallas). The Commerce Street Night Market is my favorite of the events Little D Markets puts on, and it’s simply because they always think of everything. The August rendition follows this pattern, with the band Mayta providing Latin-flavored rock you can groove to, Smoke & The Foundry handling the bar, multiple food vendors bringing snacks for an easy dinner, and plenty of booths to shop. If you’re a parent, they even have a hip-hop dance class for kids, leaving you free to peruse their art installations and enjoy y’all’selves. Bonus: you and your date can check multiple things off your to-do list besides enjoying each other’s company, including Christmas shopping, checking out that small business you’ve heard about, trying new foods, and maybe even a workshop or two!
