Hordes Of Tattoo-Hungry Revelers Showed Up To Elm Street Tattoo on Friday the 13th.

Like clockwork, each time a Friday the 13th comes, so to do the tattoo-hungry masses to the doors of Elm Street Tattoo.

Indeed, the Oliver Peck-helmed shop's recurring Friday the 13th marathon promotion — offering tattoos with the number 13 inscribed within them for $20 ($13 for the tattoo, plus a $7 tip for the tattooer) over a 24-hour period — is a local institution at this point. And bearers of these tattoos very much wear them with a sense of pride, unified by the fact that, despite the massive turnover of customers seen at these events, only so many locals actually bear the marks.

As such, this past Friday's scene at the shop was a familiar one, as a variety of types — tattoo vets and ink virgins alike — showed up en masse to partake in the festivities. The line, per usual, stretched from the shop's door and down to Malcolm X Boulevard.

Expect a similar scene on Friday, July 13, when the shop does it all over again.
