Every day until it closes on October 21, we'll give you the skinny on one of the many worthwhile food items being served up at the State Fair of Texas. Enjoy!

Day 11: Deep Fried Texas Salsa.
A 2011 Big Tex Choice Awards Finalist and a new State Fair favorite!
What is it? A mixture of jalapenos, roasted garlic, onion, tomato and pepper — all rolled together, dipped in masa, covered in crunchy tortilla chips and deep fried. Also? It's served with warm queso.
Where can you find it? On the east side of the food vendors, directly in front of the Cotton Bowl entrance.
How much is it? 10 tickets (the equivalent to $5).
