Can You Match The Tortilla Chip To Its Dallas Restaurant?

There’s no doubting the influence that Latin America holds over Dallas cuisine — and beyond just Tex-Mex, too. Scan any list of North Texas restaurants and it becomes quite clear that Latin fusion just completely dominates the Dallas dining scene.

And thank goodness for that, really. The benefits we reap are quite delicious — from award-winning margaritas to the magic that is Bob Armstrong dip. Better yet, the variations at the Dallas diner’s disposal are almost unending; each restaurant is at least a little different than the last.

But they do all have this one thing in common: They’ve all got tortilla chips.

Some are housemade and others are ordered from outside suppliers. But, really, regardless of what happens before they make it to your table, there’s no denying their place as the quintessential Latin meal starter.

Just how well do you pay attention to these chips, though? Think you’re an expert on them?

Well, we’ll see about that. We recently visited 19 area restaurants to grab some chips and take some photos, all in an effort to find out just how different these offerings actually are. The result of that effort is the below quiz, which you can take to see how skilled you may or may not be at matching the tortilla chip with the popular Dallas restaurant that serves it.

We’re guessing you’re going to have a harder time of it than you might expect. — Allie Williamson
