Our Editor’s Picks For Some Of The Best New Music From North Texas Musicians Include Luna Luna, Paul Cauthen, Liv.e And More.

If you’re familiar with our recurring ‘Song of the Day‘ series, you already know we’re fortunate enough to call home to a city with a healthy heartbeat for local music. But, being that we’re all stuck social distancing through these tough times, here’s hoping this will give you something to help get through them.

Despite the strange circumstances we’re living in, North Texas artists have not disappointed in the way of releasing new music. Not only is it crazy to realize they’ve blessed us with three months worth of material to stack playlists with bangers for quarantining, it’s also wild to know it all lasted long enough for summer to sneak up on us.

And it can only get better from here seeing as how it seems to be some sort of unwritten law of music that all the best projects drop as the temperatures rise — y’know, lots of fun things for the summertime.

With new tracks from some of the freshest acts in North Texas such as Welcome Center, Luna Luna and Liv.e (all of which are featured on this playlist), I’m finding it easier to be optimistic lately.

I don’t want to jinx it, but maybe we won’t be in for such a cruel summer in Dallas after all.

If you’re a musician in DFW who recently dropped something, or you’re just a fan of local music and think something should be on my radar: please don’t hesitate to put me on at @alecspicey on Twitter or at [email protected].
