Five Dallas Acts Join Yeah Yeah Yeahs, Grizzly Bear, Iggy Pop, The Shins, Blood Orange, Vince Staples And More On Stacked Austin Festival Bill.
Dallas thrash heroes Power Trip, North Texas rappers Snow Tha Product and Sam Lao, and renowned area party-starters DJ Sober and All/Everything have been tapped to perform at the 2017 Sound on Sound Festival.
The second-year fest, which will return to its home at the renaissance fairgrounds at Sherwood Forest 35 miles east of Austin on November 10-12, will also feature performances from The Yeah Yeah Yeahs, Grizzly Bear, Iggy Pop, Blood Orange, Electric Wizard, Pusha T, Kehlani, Vince Staples, Sleep, Ministry, Washed Out, Dinosaur Jr., Taking Back Sunday, Digable Planets and more.
The eclectic, impressive bill is par for course for the fest thrown each fall by Margin Walker Presents, the company that split off from Transmission Events and formerly threw Austin’s much-revered Fun Fun Fun Fest. Weekend passes to the festival start at $189, and are on sale right here.
This year, though, the festival appears to be making a push to expand its market across Texas by hosting shuttle services to the fairgrounds from cities as far as Dallas. By partnering up with FestDrive, Sound on Sound will offer North Texas attendees shuttles from Deep Ellum venue the Bomb Factory to the festival for $35 (one-way) or $60 round-trip. More information on purchasing shuttle rides can be found here. Check out the full 2017 SOS lineup below.
