An Early Look At The New Baker’s Ribs Location in Deep Ellum.

Though they haven’t yet thrown their official grand opening, Baker’s Ribs is indeed currently up and running in its new location over at Main and Hall in Deep Ellum. Unlike the barbecue joint’s old space on Commerce Street, Baker’s now owns this location.

And that’s pretty important, as part of the reason for the move to this new space was to expand the fried pie side of their operation, and, in the new space, that side of the business gets a nice dedicated area adjacent to the restaurant.

The new location increases Baker’s Ribs’ capacity over the old location, but it also looks pretty great with its exposed concrete floors and ducts and vintage and homey tchotchkes, which do a nice job of warming the place up. The dine-in experience is improved, too: There is a shaded patio out front, and they even have the rooftop — with an excellent view of downtown — ready to go. Before the weather gets too miserable, you’ll want to grab a bite and a seat up there around dusk.
