Our Next Red Bull Sound Select Show Goes Down May 22 at Three Links.
This month, Dallas will see its tenth — tenth! — Red Bull Sound Select showcase go down at Three Links as Parade of Flesh curates its second-ever offering in the series, following up January's Fucked Up-headlined affair at Dada with a Three Links-hosted show featuring L.A. noise punks Health, plus locals Cutter and Blackstone Rangers. RSVP for your $3 tickets to that April 17 show right here, as that one should also prove a memorable experience — just as all of these shows have, really.
Then, since you're already in the RSVPing mood, head here and RSVP for $3 passes to the May showcase, which we here at CT are curating. That one goes down on Thursday, May 22, also at Three Links.
And it too should be special.
How so? Well, because, back when this series was announced, we made it clear: This Red Bull Sound Select deal is all about supporting local bands, ones that deserve a little extra shine.
So, in May, we're supporting those bands by, well, only featuring them. In other words: No, there'll be no headliner on this one.
Instead, we'll just be offering up a showcase of three of Dallas' best roots-oriented rock bands: Quaker City Night Hawks, Somebody's Darling and Goodnight Ned.
Why no headliner? Because these three acts don't need some out-of-towner's help to draw in crowds. Because they all already have strong followings. Because they're all just complete badasses.
And, for those reasons, we're confident: This show's gonna be crazy packed on these bands' own accords, and rightfully so. Our hope? That it'll prove something we've long known to be true: that the Dallas scene is doing plenty fine on its own, thanks — something that, if you've ever heard these three bands in particular, you already know.
Check out what we're talking about:
We'll see you there.
