Young Thug Is Replacing Cardi B And T.I. Is Replacing Kevin Gates, But JMBLYA Is Otherwise Still On For Fair Park In Dallas, Even In The Face Of Some Rain.

Since announcing in December that it would be returning for its sixth annual affair, the folks behind JMBLYA ’18 have made sure to point out that they’d heard the fest’s past attendees’ complaints, and that they’d be adding more hydration options throughout the grounds as the day-long rap festival takes place at Fair Park today.

We’re guessing today’s rains are not what the organizers had in mind, though. Still, a JMBLYA publicist assures us that all of today’s precipitation will not be putting a damper on JMBLYA’s Dallas festivities. Doors are still slated to open right at 2 p.m., with performances continuing on, rain or shine.

That’s not to say, of course, that JMBLYA won’t be seeing any changes to its offerings. In fact, it already has: Over the last couple of weeks, the lineup for the festival has been clearly altered. For starters, Atlanta superstar Young Thug has been announced as replacing Cardi B on the bill because, well, Young Thug isn’t pregnant with fellow festival performer Offset of Migos’ baby. And Kevin Gates, who was originally scheduled to make his first post-prison performance at today’s kickoff of JMBLYA’s three-Texas-city swing, has been removed from the bill due to “legal circumstances outside of his control” and been replaced by rap heavyweight T.I. in what is objectively a pretty remarkable upgrade.

So, yeah, you’ll still want to be at JMBLYA today. Just, rather than include it in the laundry list of you won’t be allowed to have at the fest, be sure to bring a raincoat along with you.

Neither we nor your mothers would want you to catch a cold!
