Before The Red Bull Air Race World Championships Come To Town, Jam DJ Sober’s New Fly High Mix

Next month, a rather high-velocity affair will be coming to Fort Worth's Texas Motor Speedway complex as Red Bull welcomes a spate of international flyboys to the region to participate in its annual Air Race World Championships on September 6 and 7.

You've seen this sort of thing before — in TV commercials, if nowhere else — wherein aerial daredevils compete with one another by flying jets through obstacle courses at impossibly breakneck speeds. The whole thing's pretty nuts — not to mention sort of a weird way to get one's rocks off. But, hey, you're not the one up there thrill-seeking, and, from the comfort of the TMS stands, the whole thing should make for quite the spectacle, especially for any Top Gun fans out there.

One such fan: Our man DJ Sober, who Red Bull tapped to create a new, exclusive mix for the purposes of getting everyone pumped up for the coming spectacle. Good timing, too, as today just so happens to be National Aviation Day.

Before you do, though, know this: It's possible to get into this event for free. To do so, Red Bull, take a photo of yourself making a face that mimics the 10 Gs of force that Air Race pilots feel while going through this competition, then post it to Instagram while tagging @RedBullAirRace and using the hashtag #gface. Red Bull will select its winners of that contest in the coming weeks.
