Spillover Fest Adds Locals, Announces After-Party.
Like 35 Denton did earlier today, its fellow annual, oft-name-changing, SXSW-spillover benefiting, North Texas music festival, Parade of Flesh's Spillover, announced its final round of additions to this year's bill today. And these most recent adds are all local, too. Now joining the likes of Parquet Courts, Parenthetical Girls and Nobunny at Sandbar Cantina on March 17: Baring Teeth, The Birds of Night, Lonesome Ghost and Pinkish Black.
Throw in the fact that Spune also announced the initial lineup for this year's Untapped Fort Worth and it's starts to become apparent that clearly none of these festival's organizers are even trying to coordinate these announcements.
The flip side? Quite the festival announcement day today has been already, huh?
Anyway, with this latest round of Spillover confirms also comes the news that Parade of Flesh's sixth annual spring fest has finally grown so large that it's beginning to spawn spillover events of its own. After things wind down over at “Beach Ellum,” another batch of Parade of Flesh-approved acts will be ending the night with an exclusive free after-party at the nearby Double Wide for all Spillover wristband holders.
Like all shows at Double Wide, though, you'll have to be of legal drinking age to end the night with Pallbearer, Ken Mode, Howl and Mutilation Rites, all of whom were also announced for this affair today.
Judging from the heavy nature of that Double Wide show, it looks as if John Iskander and Co. will be once again sticking with their yearly tradition of ordering bands from most subdued to most skull-rattling, starting things off slower and ending them heavy as hell.
Advanced tickets can be purchased for $19.99 right here.
