J. Cole Showed Up To A Dallas Fan’s House Last Night And Let Her Preview His New LP.

The last time rapper J. Cole rolled through North Texas, he found himself performing before one of the largest crowds gathered at the inaugural Suburbia Music Festival in Plano. During a surprise visit to town last night, however, he greeted a significantly smaller audience.

As part of a grassroots campaign meant to promote his third studio LP, 2014 Forest Hills Drive, which is due to drop December 9, Cole came to Dallas last night and followed up a more formal listening session with industry types by giving one of his fans a surprise and private early listening session of the new album to call her own.

Here’s how it went down.

After Cole announced his presence in town, one of the rapper’s Dallas-dwelling superfans basically freaked out, to which Cole responded by offering to meet up with her at her house.

She, of course, complied. And Cole stayed true to his word, visiting the fan, her family and some friends of hers at her house. And because we live in a pics-or-it-didn’t-happen world, the fan documented the entire thing on her social media channels. So, too, did members of Cole’s team.

Below is an assortment of some of the photos and videos collected during the visit.

Say what you will about these social media-obsessed times we live in, but they really do connect fans with their heroes in ways we’ve never quite seen before.
