Dallas Heritage Village and the Art Deco Society of Dallas proudly announce the Fourth Annual Jazz Age Sunday Social, returning March 26th, 2017!
The premiere vintage-inspired event in north Texas, The JASS will feature an afternoon of dancing, traditional jazz (two live bands, The Singapore Slingers and Dave Washburn’s Three Quarters Fast Jazz Band), vintage vendors, food, ice cream, photo booth, best dressed contest, antique cars, and more. Make plans to join us! Admission is still just $10. Tickets will be available at the gate, and advance tickets sales will be online soon.
Our event begins at 12:00 pm on Sunday March 26th. Elaine Hewlett from The Rhythm Room will be teaching you some great 1920s dance steps, so you’ll be ready to cut a rug to Matt Tolentino’s Singapore Slingers and the Three Quarters Fast Jazz Band – two local favorites. This year we are proud to feature David Jellema as our special guest performer this year! David is an outstanding cornet and clarinet player from Austin.
Picnic lunches are highly encouraged, but if you find yourself short on time, Easy Slider Truck will be on hand serving up their great, award winning hamburgers and food. Vintage vendors including Old Fashioned Sweet Shop, Ahoy! Cruises, and Savannah Hoffman Designs will be on hand, with more vendors to be announced soon. Amelia Fox Trot will return with her antique gramophones, playing original 78 rpm records! Don’t forget the antique cars – they make great photo ops. And speaking of photo ops, be sure to take advantage of our photo booth, and be sure to enter the best dressed contest for your chance to win something swell.
All this and much more awaits you at the Fourth Annual Jazz Age Sunday Social. Do not miss it! Spend the afternoon enjoying the music and culture of the 1920s. We’ll see you there!
*Please remember that in true prohibition style, no alcohol is allowed on the grounds.*
