19aug7:30 pm9:30 pmDallas Against White Supremacy March

Event Details

As so many of us watch on in horror at what’s taking place in Charlottesville, we ask ourselves what we can do. This is it. We’ll come together as a community to denounce white-supremacy, neo-nazism, neo-confederates, the alt-right, and any other moniker you may know them by. At the end of the day, though, only one true name fits them all: racist. During their “Unite the Right” march, they used chants that were anti-semite, anti-black, anti-muslim, and anti-lgbt, and claimed that “white lives matter.”

We’re here to say that BLACK LIVES MATTER. WOMEN’S LIVES MATTER. JEWISH LIVES MATTER. MUSLIM LIVES MATTER. LATINO LIVES MATTER. NATIVE AMERICAN LIVES MATTER. LGBT LIVES MATTER. White-Supremacy has no place in a society as culturally, socially, ethnically, and religiously diverse as ours, and it’s time that we stand up, all over, and say no more. We must fight back against the racism, bigotry and horribleness that is threatening to overtake and destroy our country. We are a nation divided, along racial lines, by those who would see people of color as “less than.” We cannot count on the President or his administration to call these people what they are (racist, bigoted, and evil) so we must rely upon ourselves and our allies to stand up for what is right.

We will meet at the confederate war memorial of Dallas once again, not only to demand, once more, that this memorial be removed, but to also denounce white supremacy and show that solidarity in the form of diversity and unification is far more powerful than white-supremacy or racism.
