SIX November’s mixed bill includes the Bruce Wood classic, “No Sea To Sail In”, a stark and suspenseful ballet noir. Also on the bill is the world premiere of “Klezmer Rodeo” by celebrated NYC choreographer Katarzyna Skarpetowska. Says Skarpetowska, “Klezmer Rodeo is set to the music of John Zorn and explores sheer physicality, joy, and the raw connection of music to dance. Its driving rhythms thrust the dancers into rapturous passages.” BWDP Artistic Director Kimi Nikaidoh premieres an electrifying multi-media collaboration with Dallas-based visual artist Shane Pennington. “Bloom” captures the healing and reclaiming of hope through recovery. Nikadioh says, “Bloom explores the idea that resilience is less an individual attribute than a gift we give to each other.” Nikaidoh is excited to work with Pennington, who is well known in Dallas as the co-founder of AURORA – the largest outdoor new media arts festival in the United States. “Within the complexities of our changing modern world, there are moments of clarity when we have the opportunity to lift each other up, and this moment sparks the human spirit,” says Pennington.
