Kanye West To Project Yeezus Promo Across Five Dallas Locations Tonight.

Dallas may have been passed over in the first wave of wall-projection guerilla promotions for Kanye West's Yeezus album, downloads of which leaked just a couple hours ago. (Have you listened? It's pretty good, you guys!) But now, it seems Dallas is finally getting what San Antonio, Austin and Houston got last month.

Tonight, a video promoting the new album — it's been set to the album's “New Slaves” elsewhere to date — will be projected onto walls all across the city. The times and locations of these half-hour-long projections are as follows, according to Kanye's own site:

– Union Station (400 S. Houston St.) at 9:30 p.m.
– Majestic Theater (1925 Elm St.) at 10:30 p.m.
– The Double Wide (3510 Commerce St.) at 11:30 p.m.
– The old Union Bankers/Knights of Pythias Temple building (2551 Elm St.) at 12:30 a.m.
– The Fair Park Esplanade at 1:30 a.m.

Here's hoping that these screenings go down more smoothly than the ones in Houston last month did, as police shut down at least one projection because of crowd control and trespassing concerns.

Also, we should note, this projection effort is just one of a few connections that North Texas now shares with Yeezus. Dallas-based producer Symbolyc One, who produced “Power” on 2010's My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy and the second half of “Murder to Excellence” on 2011's Watch The Throne, has two tracks on Yeezus: “Guilt Trip” and the album-closing “Bound.” Meanwhile, West's cousin, the Fort Worth-dwelling R&B singer Tony Williams (who performed at Dallas' The Dram last night) appears on the song “Blood on the Leaves.”

Says Larry Griffin Jr., the man behind the Symbolyc One moniker, of his contributions to the release (as posted to his personal Facebook page today): “Anticipating another Grammy for my work on the new Kanye album!”

Considering that he's two-for-two at this point so far, maybe he's got a point.

Update at 5:10 p.m.: Earlier today, we left a message with Double Wide owner Kim Finch to see if she's heard anything about these projections. Moments ago, she called us back. Her response: “I had no idea about it until I heard your message. I've heard nothing about it. I guess it's cool, though.”
