Get Thrifty as Uptown Consignment's Re-Opening.

Even though Mardi Gras isn't technically until Tuesday, you can bet there will be plenty of celebrating starting this weekend. But even for folks who are trying to save their hard-earned scratch for the all-day drinking that's sure to occur, there are plenty of cheap and/or free ways to spend one's Friday night.

Uptown Consignment Grand Re-Opening Party

Pretty Things Peepshow at The Kessler Theater

An Evening with Don Hertzfeldt at Texas Theatre (7 p.m.)
Cult animator and Academy Award nominee Don Hertzfeldt will be screening a series of his shorts at Texas Theatre, including his Bill trilogy, who's third installment, It's Such a Beautiful Day, will be making its Dallas premiere at the event. An audience Q&A and autograph session both follow.
