Dare To Dream.

Another day, another Labor Day Weekend has come to an end. Hopefully you didn't do anything you're going to regret, like get a tattoo of a sparrow on your wrist. If so, you may not be able to be a police officer in San Antonio.

According to NBC, the San Antonio Police Department is banning its officers from having visible tattoos. Why? They want to look more professional. Because, y'know, it's 2014 and tattoos are so rare these days.

Lucky for all your tattooed freaks out there, you can rock out with your tattoos out all of tonight's festivities. At a few of them, it's actually encouraged. — Chase Whale

Rockstar Energy Drink Uproar Festival at Verizon Theatre
Here's a blast from the past — Godsmack is headlining the Uproar Festival, with Buckcherry, Seether and Skillet playing, along with others. Remember when Godsmack's hit song “I Stand Alone” was use for the trailer for The Scorpion King, starring the incomparable Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson? It's still hilarious. — CW

Jason Mraz at Winspear Opera House
There aren't too many artists out there who's songs are more uplifting than Jason Mraz's. Look at some of the songs in his catalog — “I Won't Give Up,” “Life Is Wonderful” and who can forget the most upbeat, “The Remedy.” Chances are high he'll be jamming that last one tonight. — CW

Free Week at Rubber Gloves
Rubber Gloves' annual back-to-school, free week tradition rolls on with another strong bill. Bludded Head, Cerulean Giallo, Nervous Curtains and Nite Shadez will each perform, and Cerulean Giallo will release its new album. Not bad for free-ninety-nine. — Cory Graves

Tuesday Night Trash: Stunt Rock at Texas Theatre
If there's anybody that gets laid more than rock stars, it's gotta be daredevils. Of course nobody gets laid faster than an action hero that's both a stuntman and a rock 'n' roller? At least that's what the bright minds behind this so-terrible-it's-kinda-good '80s flick would have you believe. As always, this edition of Texas Theatre's monthly TNT offerings is free. — CG

Tattoo Nightmares: Miami Season Premiere Watch Party at Sparrows Tattoo Company
Tonight the Oliver Peck-hosted Ink Master kicks off its fifth season. Immediately after, the newest Tattoo Nightmares spinoff — which stars Mansfield's Clint Cummings — premieres as well. A veteran of both programs, Cummings is hosting a party at his newly opened Mansfield tattoo shop tonight with several artists from both series' in attendance. — CG

Honky Tonk Jukebox at Off the Record
Deep Ellum expererienced quite the facelift of late. In the past week alone a handful of new bars opened up, including Off the Record, one of the few combination bar/record stores in the country. Check it out tonight, when DJ Bryan Coonrod spins nothing but classic country 45s all night. — CG

Nice Work If You Can Get It at Music Hall at Fair Park
This one's a dance your heart out musical about the Roaring Twenties. There's something for the music folks, here, as George and Ira Gershwin's most loved songs are used throughout the show. The Broadway play starred Matthew Broderick, but he won't be here because he's too cool for school. Hope you got that. Show goes through September 14. — CW
