This Sunday, I had the pleasure of watching my friend's two dogs strategically ruin a couple's engagement photo shoot at a public dog park. It's not that I'm bitter, it's that watching two dressed-up people try to pose their four dogs while multiple other dogs worked to interrupt as best as they could, was just a special kind of joy after watching pretty much everyone I know get engaged lately.

Anyways, it made me think that there had to be a better way to celebrate you and your boo's mutual love of dogs without the frustration of muddy heels and a pricey photographer, and so this week's date night was born.

Mutt's Canine Cantina (2889 Cityplace W Blvd, Dallas). This place has it all, and I don't say that lightly. Both dogs and owners are taken care of here, with a one acre, off-leash dog park for your pups to enjoy, good food and a lengthy list of craft beers for you. And there's friendliness all around. Making the night even better, they provide attendants to keep an eye out on your fur children, letting you kick back and watch from afar without worrying about Spot getting too friendly with Dot. Grab a day pass and check it out, it might be y'all's new favorite chill date spot for when you don't want to leave the dogs at home. Bonus points if you make it during “Yappy hour” for the $3 drink specials.
