Here’s Your First Look At New Henderson Avenue Spot High Fives.

After a soft opening last week, new Henderson Avenue spot High Fives is now running “full bore,” says one of the place’s owners, Brandon Hays.

Located in the Glass Boot Biergarten space across from Beauty Bar at the intersection of Henderson and McMillan avenues, Hays describes High Fives as an indoor/outdoor hangout-ready spot — and if the photos snapped by our own Brandon Mikel and posted below are any indication, that description looks to be rather spot on, actually.

A joint venture from Hays’ own So & So’s team and the team behind The Standard Pour, the bar boasts a 12-drink cocktail menu in addition to a sandwich- and shareable board-focused food menu, with the majority of all options costing around $10 or less. During the week, High Fives will be open from 4 p.m. to 2 a.m., with opening hours moved up to 11 a.m. on the weekends and a mostly egg sandwich-focused menu added on those days for the brunch-inclined sets.

High Fives is the first of two new spots in this part of town for Hays and his partner at So & So’s, Phillip Schanbaum. In the coming months, they’ll open up another concept called Whippersnappers in the old Slip Inn space. More news on that spot as it comes, though. For now, Hays says he’s more focus on integrating High Fives into the Henderson community.

“We’re just trying to keep everything chill and trying to fit in with Henderson,” he says. “We’ve not trying to bring the Uptown vibe of our other spots here. There’s already a great feel to this neighborhood.”
