Ben Kweller To Play Intimate Benefit Show at City Tavern.

City Tavern's not a big space. A sold-out show at the downtown watering hole's upstairs venue can hold maybe 150 people.

Maybe.

So that's what makes this news something of a shocker: Revered area singer-songwriter and country- and folk-tinged indie rocker Ben Kweller will play a show in that space on Saturday, February 23. He'll be joined on the bill by fellow locals The Orbans and The Longshots. Tickets to this intimate affair will run $10.

The obvious question here: Huh?

City Tavern owner Josh Florence explains: The show is a benefit concert aimed at raising funds for the North Texas Food Bank.

“The artists are donating their time,” he adds.

Yeah, that's pretty cool. Get your advanced tickets to the show here.
